Thirteen of us went to Victoria to ride the half-ironman course. The ride is scenic. I don’t think there is a flat segment on the whole course. It’s uphill or downhill the whole way. I have imagery of flat-ish sections by the fields of cabbages that overlook the seashore. I have imagery of windy wooded sections that are a lot like the ride to Horseshoe Bay. There’s two major climbs on the loop that we ride three times, one up by the farmers field with a slight flat in the rise mid-way up beside a farmer’s sign for eggs. The other climb is in a more wooded section and is followed by a long downhill, where you turn to head back towards the highway. I liked the ride, it will be long and hard in the race.
