Run group tonight served up the most challenging and longest workout of the year. Coach Drew had us out for a 2hr workout where we ran up and down the Spanish Banks hill five times. As a teaser, he started us with repeats up an even steeper trail at the base of Spanish Banks, then it was off to the real challenge. After a slow start, I felt best on the last three repeats.
It was a beautiful sunny day here in Vangroovy, so the beach was filled with families, frisbees, and footballs. This meant that the warmup and cooldown runs were filled with tempting barbeque smells. At the end of the workout, I was so warm that I joined all the kids down by the beach. I was thinking that I would just soak my legs in the icy water, but the ocean water was so mild that I jumped right in. After a quick change and the drive home, I removed the last piece of sticky seaweed with a warm shower. Summer is here!
